So I finished Spongebob!!!! I think he turned out great! I didn't want to buy a pattern so he is made by looking at pictures and watching the show. LOL The recipient LOVES him. He was smiling from ear to ear while hugging him. Makes all the hard work worth it. :)

I have to finish 2 dog sweaters and a spongebob doll before Christmas Eve morning. I have one sweater halfway done and spongebob is halfway done. *WHEW* I have a lot of knitting to do. :) I also want to make my mom some coffee cozies by the 23rd. I made her one last Christmas and she told me the other day that she can only use it around Christmas and needs some for year round. Well I'm off to knit!

Star Stitch Headband

Materials:
worsted weight yarn
Size 6 DPN

Tie:
CO 3 sts and work I-cord for 10". You can go 12 inches if you want a longer tie.

Increase:
Row 1: Sl 1, purl to end
Row 2: Sl 1, m1, k1, m1, k1 (5 sts)

Row 3: Sl 1, purl to end

Row 4: Sl 1, m1, k 3, m1, k1 (7 sts)

Row 5: Sl 1, purl to end

Row 6: Sl 1, m1, k5, m1, k1 (9 sts)

Body:

Row 7: Sl 1, Purl to end (WS)

Row 8: Sl 1, k1, *YO, k3, pas first of the 3 knit stitches over the 2nd and 3rd stitches; Repeat from * across ending with k1.

Row 9: Sl 1, Purl to end

Row 10: Sl 1, * K3, Pass 1st stitch over the 2nd and 3rd, YO; Repeat from * across ending with k2

Repeat these last 4 rows until piece measures 11" Ending with a RS row.

Decrease:

Row 1: Sl 1, Purl to end (WS)

I have been working on my Husband's blanket for a good 3 years on and off. He has been asking for it ever since our daughter was born. I started again on it last week and remembered why I put it down in the first place. It takes 30 mins to do one row!! I only have 2 stars left to do so hopefully it will be done by Father's Day. Well off to double crochet land...

Top Down Baby Booties

I was looking at baby booties this weekend to make for my pen pal's new baby. I found some I liked but wanted to try my own. I hope this pattern makes sense because I wrote it after I made the booties.

Materials:
Red Heart Baby Yarn
size 'G' hook
ribbon for ties-optional

Abbreviations used:
ch- chain
sc- single crochet
sl st- Slip stitch
Hdc- Half double crochet
Rnd- round
Rpt- repeat

*Note- always join rounds by sl st to first st.

Cuff
Ch 25 and join to work in the round.
Rnd 1: ch-1 and sc in each st around. Join Ch-1
Rnd 2-4: hdc in each st around. Join Ch-1
Rnd 5: sc in same st as join, ch-1, skip next hdc, *sc in next hdc, ch-1, skip next hdc* rpt from *to* around. Join
Rnd 6: Hdc in each sc and ch-1 space around to last sc and ch-1 space sc2tog. Join Ch-1

Instep
Row 7: Hdc in next 8 sts. ch-1 TURN
Row 8-11: Hdc in each st. Ch-1 TURN
Row 12: hdc2tog, hdc in next 4 sts, hdc2tog.

Bottom
Rnd 13: ch-1 and work 6 hdc along the side of the instep, 17 hdc along the cuff, 6 hdc on the other side of the instep and 6 hdc in end of the instep. Join to 1st hdc. ch-1 (35 sts)
Rnd 14: Hdc in each st around. Join Ch-1
Rnd 15: Hdc in 29 sts, hdc2tog, hdc in 2 sts, hdc2tog. Join Ch-1 (33 sts)
Rnd 16: Working in the back ridge and back loop, hdc in each st. join ch-1
Rnd 17: hdc2tog, *hdc in the next 11 sts, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 2 sts* hdc2tog. Rpt from * to * around. Join

Fasten off with a long tail and sew the bottom seam. Weave in ends and make another one.

Ties: You can crochet a chain to weave through round 5 or you can use ribbon.

Haileigh's Shirt

I found the pattern on Ravelry and absolutely love it!! I have been wanting to make her a shirt and just couldn't find one I liked. This one is super easy and works up really fast. I don't have much time during the day to knit with an 8 month old, so most of it is done during nap time! I thought it was going to be too small but when I tried it on her it fit perfect! She still has some growing room! I'm going to make another one but add some lace or something to the body. I will make it a little longer so she can wear it longer. This is my daughter Haileigh modeling!

Knitting two leggings at one time!

Materials: 2 balls of yarn, 2 circular needles and leggings pattern

With first circular needle and first ball of yarn cast on half the number of stitches. I used purple yarn.

using the same needle but the second ball of yarn cast on the same number of stitches. White yarn.

Now using the other circular needle cast on, using the same ball of yarn, the remaining stitches. I find this easier if I hold the needles side by side with the points facing the same way. I already turned it in the picture.

Then picking up the first yarn again cast on the remaining stitches. (purple) I pull my first set of stitches down the circular a little so I can turn the needle easier when i'm casting on the purple.

Then straighten all your stitches on the two needles. I went ahead and pulled the top circular through so the points face the same way.

Using the end of the circular your next stitches are on.(top) and working in your pattern, work the first set of stitches.(purple)

then work the second set of stitches.(white) That side is now done. You can pull the needle through the stitches so they hanging in the middle of the circular.

Now you can do the same thing with the other side. Making sure you move the stitches down to the other side of the circular so the pointed edge is facing the way it needs to be to knit. Like you would slide the stitches for an i-cord.

Continue doing this until it is the length you want it. This is what it will look like when you work a few rows. I used two colors so you can see each leg. It is really easy once you get the hang of it.
TIPS: Try to keep your yarn for each leg seperated and try not to get it caught in between the legs. I do it all the time as you can see two pictures up. LOL I just work until I can put it back to the outside. If you have any questions let me know!
